Visionaires Take the act of giving to a higher level

Discover how you can participate in a lasting vision by giving a planned gift to others- become a Visionaire. You will ensure that TLC clients with multiple-disabilities who are blind/visually impaired will be cared for in perpetuity. TLC works with individuals and families to help them meet their philanthropic goals. Discover too, how you can meet giving objectives that you never thought possible.

Current members of the Visionaires have shown by their generosity that they see beyond today. They have made a commitment, such as a beneficiary designation that names TLC in their will or living trust. Through their foresight and wisdom, they make gifts that require simple planning, are tax-advantaged and may be deferred.  Such gifts may include bequests or other estate commitments, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of appreciated securities or gifts of insurance.

Visionaires' planned gifts provide needed financial support in the future, because we know federal funding is minimal now and state support is more uncertain than ever.  Members of the Visionaires know that their planned gifts ensure a quality of life that we would all desire for ourselves and our loved ones.

Join our Legacy Circle

By making a planned or deferred gift to TLC, you may become a member of our Legacy Circle. Planned gifts are an investment in the future of TLC, while also providing financial benefits to you and your family, now and in the future.

Joining the Legacy Circle is simple: simply inform us, in writing, that you have designated TLC as a beneficiary in your estate plan. All details of your gift will be held in strict confidence, and your gift will be directed according to your wishes. We encourage planned-gift donors to notify us, so we have the opportunity to recognize and thank you.

All donors who make a planned gift are members of the Legacy Circle and will be recognized in a number of ways, including:

  • An invitation to at least one event each year to acknowledge your support
  • Separate listing in the Annual Report, and other publications

Supporters who have made a planned or deferred gift of $50,000 or more receive additional recognition in the following ways:

  • Permanent recognition on the Legacy Circle Donor wall
  • A choice of a naming opportunity, commensurate with the size of the gift

Examples of planned gifts include:

  • Bequest
  • Charitable gift annuity
  • Charitable remainder trust
  • Real estate gift
  • Retirement plan designation
  • Stock gift
  • Life insurance policies

There are many additional possibilities to create a planned gift. The Foundation will refer you to a planning consultant, or contact your financial adviser for the most appropriate plans for your needs and circumstances.
