A Bright Light in the TLC Community
Therapeutic Living & Learning Centers (TLC) proudly features Samantha, a shining star in our Creative Arts Program (CAP) for more than two years. Known for her bright spirit, kindness, and creativity, she inspires everyone around her. Her dedication to the arts and her compassion for others make her a true role model within the TLC community.
A Passion for the Arts
This semester, Samantha has excelled in Musical Theatre, Play Production, Culinary Arts, Gardening, and Aquatic Fitness. Her passion for performing arts shines on stage, where she brings energy, confidence, and joy to every role.
Recently, Samantha explored new creative territory by producing her own podcast, guided by instructor Elizabeth “Betsy” Meiman. Through this project, she’s using her storytelling talents to connect with new audiences and share meaningful stories.
On Stage and in the Spotlight
Samantha’s dedication to performance has kept her schedule full. In June, she participated in three major events:
- TLC’s 2nd Annual Dance Recital – Reflections
- The Greatest Family Story, co-written by Samantha and her peers
- Volunteer performances with the TLC Dynamites at new community locations
Her impact extends beyond TLC. She performed before more than 200 guests at the Granada Hills Women’s Club Tea Party and competed at the LAX Sheraton Hotel Dance Expo, where her team earned the highest platinum award among more than 20 groups. Samantha’s acting credits include The Greatest Family Story (2025) and Cinderella (2024), both performed for sold-out audiences.
A Voice for the Community
In July, Samantha met U.S. Representative Luz Rivas, D-Calif., during a special campus visit. They spoke about immigration concerns and hopes for future policy. Impressed by Samantha’s courage and insight, Representative Rivas took a selfie with her to share with other elected officials—promising to carry Samantha’s voice to Sacramento.

“Samantha is a standout in my scriptwriting class,” says instructor Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Meiman. “Her creativity knows no bounds. She brings imaginative, thoughtful, and deeply layered ideas to every project. She’s an amazing actress, singer, and performer who inspires everyone she works with.”
Giving Back Through Art
Samantha’s creativity also shines through her volunteer work at Pacifica Northridge and Avant Garde Tarzana senior centers. Together with her fellow TLC dancers, she brings joy and movement to local residents. She also performs in TLC’s annual dance recitals at the Black Box Theatre and showcases her ceramics and visual art at monthly outdoor markets.
Her mother shares that TLC has helped Samantha become more social, disciplined, and confident—both on stage and in life.
Looking Ahead
This December, Samantha will take the stage in TLC’s live musical production of A Christmas Carol, a community favorite you won’t want to miss!
