Our music and singing lessons for kids introduce children to the joy of rhythm, melody and performance. Students can explore choir, orchestra, instrument lessons and vocal training, discovering their musical voice while building confidence and teamwork. The TLC Orchestra (TLCO) offers a diverse, performance-based curriculum that fosters the development of well-rounded musicians through comprehensive orchestral training. With regular performances throughout the year, TLCO employs a multi-faceted and hands-on approach to musical growth, where leadership, teamwork, and ensemble skills are developed and refined through large group rehearsals, small group sectionals, and individual tutoring. Additional opportunities include participating in chamber music, developing effective teaching and mentoring skills, and building the confidence and skills to perform as a soloist with the orchestra.

The TLC Choir offers a performance-based curriculum that fosters the development of a well-rounded musician through comprehensive choral training. Students will learn the fundamental singing skills including proper vocal technique, breath control, posture, intonation, tone quality and musical expression, enabling confident and expressive participation in the choir.
With regular performances throughout the year, the TLC Choir employs a multi-faceted and hands-on approach to musical growth, where leadership, teamwork, and ensemble skills are developed through large group rehearsals, small group sectionals, and individual tutoring. Additional opportunities include developing effective mentoring and teaching skills.
Students will reinforce the vocal technique and breath control foundations learned in Choir Level I and will be introduced to more advanced techniques, such as vibrato, resonance and diction, enabling students much deeper contributions to the ensemble. This introductory course offers an engaging overview of the history of music from early times to the present day. This class explores the basic development of musical styles, important composers, and cultural influences that have shaped music across different periods.
Through listening to diverse sound samples and simple discussions, students will gain a foundational understanding and appreciation of how music has evolved and its role in different societies.
Designed to support students’ musical progress in their respective ensembles, this course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of music theory. Students will develop music literacy, explore the building blocks of music, including notation, scales, chords, and harmony, and develop basic ear training.
Through both practical exercises and analytical discussions, students will develop a deeper understanding of how music is structured and composed. Suitable for those looking to strengthen their musical foundation, this course aims to enhance students’ listening skills, and performance abilities, building confidence in applying theory to performance.
This performance-based course is designed to cultivate well-rounded musicianship through in-depth chamber music training. Building upon their proficiency gained in Orchestra and/or Choir, students will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with peers in a variety of small ensembles, such as duets, piano trios, string quartets, and larger group configurations.

Throughout the class, students will develop essential skills, such as effective rehearsal etiquette, verbal and non-verbal communication—using eye contact and body language—to realize and unify musical ideas. They will also learn to share leadership responsibilities within the ensemble, adapt to shifting roles, and foster a respectful, collaborative environment.
Participants will showcase their growth by performing in several performances throughout the year, gaining valuable experience in ensemble playing and stage presence.
This course introduces students to the vibrant world of jazz ensemble performance. Students will explore jazz repertoire, arranging techniques, and improvisation, while developing ensemble skills specific to jazz music. Through active rehearsals, performances, and listening exercises, students will learn to play and interpret a range of jazz styles, from swing to contemporary jazz.
The class emphasizes creativity and teamwork, providing students with hands-on experience in performing and understanding the unique elements of jazz music.
