Our after-school arts program for kids offers a vibrant space where creativity, music, movement and imagination come together. Children of all abilities can explore ceramics, photography, jewelry making, cooking, gardening, music lessons, choir, dance, acting and fitness activities in one welcoming program designed to nurture curiosity and confidence. By giving kids the chance to try a variety of creative disciplines, this program helps them discover new interests while building skills, friendships and self-expression. Registration is ongoing and children can join at any time. Community showcases, performances, and art exhibits allow students to share their gifts with the world.
Families from across the West Valley enjoy this creative program, with children joining us from Reseda, Encino, Tarzana, Woodland Hills, Northridge and surrounding neighborhoods. Our welcoming environment makes it easy for kids from many communities to explore arts, music and movement in one inspiring after-school experience.
Children ages 5-17 and of all abilities are welcome to participate in our inclusive after school creative arts program.
Our program is free of charge for children with developmental disabilities as we are an authorized service provider for the Regional Center. Classes for siblings are also free of charge thanks to a scholarship program. Families are invited to register any time of the year as new classes are always forming.
Our doors are open daily from 3:30 – 7:30 PM with flexible scheduling tailored to every child. We are a person-centered program and therefore children are invited to choose the classes that appeal to them most as this ensures their interest and commitment. While students must enroll in at least one lesson per week, they have the opportunity to take up to 20 classes per week!
Unlike childcare programs, TLC Children’s After School Creative Arts Program requires that a parent or guardian be on campus with their child during lesson time. We offer comfortable rooms for parents and guardians to work or rest while their child is engaged with their classes.
The TLC Children’s After School Creative Arts Program is centered on classical arts education and pedagogy. Art education gives children the opportunity to enhance their communication and self-expression. Both social and motor skills are fostered through group participation and a wide variety of physical learning opportunities. Participation in our classes also promotes emotional regulation while also boosting confidence and fostering independence.
