A Year of Growth and Creativity
For more than a year, Jocelyn has been a bright presence in TLC’s Creative Arts Adult Day Program. With her contagious smile and steady determination, she brings warmth and enthusiasm to every class she joins.
Through this program, she has explored multiple disciplines, each helping her build confidence, independence, and creative expression.
Over the past year, Jocelyn has participated in:

Finding Joy in Dance and Performance
One of Jocelyn’s most memorable moments came during Spectrum TLC’s First Annual Recital. Dancing gracefully alongside her peers, she captivated the audience with her poise and radiant stage presence. Her parents were there to cheer her on, celebrating not just her performance but her courage and growth.
Performing on stage through TLC’s inclusive arts and community program in Reseda helps students develop confidence and pride. Each rehearsal and performance builds teamwork, creativity, and the courage to express themselves in front of audience.
Watching Jocelyn shine under the lights is a powerful reminder that the performing arts can create spaces for everyone to be seen and celebrated.
Exploring Ceramics and Visual Arts
Beyond the stage, Jocelyn has developed a strong voice in the ceramics studio. She has created striking sculptures and expressive art pieces that reflect both imagination and dedication.
Under the guidance of instructors Cecilia, Jim, and Sophia she has deepened her appreciation for ceramic sculpture while refining her technical skills. Their encouragement and expertise help students experiment with new materials, explore different creative styles, and take pride in every finished piece.
She recently prepared a new piece for the community showcase, and excitement is already building around what she will reveal next.
Growing Through Gardening
Jocelyn’s creativity also extends to the outdoors. In gardening classes, she has found joy in caring for plants and working with her hands in the soil. Tending garden beds mirrors her own journey of growth. With each seed planted and each bloom nurtured, her confidence continues to blossom.
